Christmas, Live Stock Show, and Bridal Shower

The two weeks since the previously mentioned wedding have included a variety of activities and thankfully some plain ol' days of just doing what needs to be done. Daniel leaves on Tuesday for his three week trip to Nicaragua. I'm dreading it, but I also just want it to start so that it will be over with and he'll be back in Texas. Plus, I know we're both very interested to see how the construction of the friary and such has progressed. We all miss the friars a lot, too. They become like brothers and uncles to us so quickly and yet we had so little time to really get to know them. I pray that the Community might be able to establish a friary in San Antonio, so that our kids may continue to know friars and religious life. It won't be like living next door to them as we did for the 3 1/2 years in Honduras. I'm only now really realizing how special that was.

Here we are the night before we left Matagalpa with me taking the photo.
We stayed with Daniel's parents a few days over New Year and were blessed with some new clothes and fun, handy flashlights.
Yesterday was the Gillespie County Live Stock Show where we watched the steers being showed. These were some nice looking steer though they probably had never seen a pasture.
This photo was taken with some friends and a particular Bible verse in mind with this message: just imagine a flock of these things standing in a field with the sun shining on their backs.
Maria Victoria checks out the turkeys.
Why are the turkeys so funny looking?
My sister's bridal shower. We did the toilet paper wedding dress contest.
