Hola from Matagalpa, Nicaragua...our new home. I'm here at an internet cafe up the street from our house which is just a half a block down from the beautiful cathedral which has Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament....as well as across the street from the covered recreation court of San Luis High School which for some reason is having early morning and after school band practices. Their band consists of a trumpet, a tuba, and a very large percussion section which equals a whole lot of banging noise from 6:30-7am and 2-3pm.
I have a more detailed post started on our laptop back at the house which I hope to finish and post tomorrow. But for those curious of our well-being, we're fine.
We're here in Nicaragua. We arrived safely Friday afternoon and have been busy cleaning and setting up the house the bishop gave us to live in. It is quite large and a bit dingy with some plumbing problems, but we are feeling more comfortable in it each day. As with any move and especially with a move to a new country where you don't know anyone, things have been stressful and we often find ourselves doubting whether we are supposed to be here or not. But we know we have to give it more time and that the devil uses discouragement to keep us from doing good. Please pray for us and the friars, our adjustment, swift progress on all the very basic things needed to start the project including opening bank accounts and securing the correct boundaries for the property.
Please let us know if you have any prayer requests for which we can offer up some of our frustrations...including writing on this spanish keyboard.
