We stayed with friends along the way as we made it back to Texas. Our first stop was in VA with our friend Jenny.
Then we headed to Nashville for a brief visit with our friend Sr. Mary Rebekah, OP at St. Cecilia Convent (a convent I visited just before my freshman year of college on a Nun Run with 23 other college girls...boy has it changed a lot since we were there! Those Nashville Dominicans are growing like wildflowers...thanks be to God.). That night we stayed with a friend of Sr. Mary Rebekah's parents. She gave us a grand tour of the lawn/park in front of the Capital...tired the kids out real well.
The next day we headed to Sheep Farm Road in Arkansas where our friends the Stengels live now. Go to their blog for pictures. It was wonderful, especially to be out of the car for over 24 hours. Marcela cooked us up some real yummy food and the kids played and played.
My sister Melanie and her housemate Alli were our last hostesses on the road home. They have a very nice duplex with lots of antique furniture...we headed out pretty soon after breakfast just to save their stuff from child-induced damage.
So Texas, here we are. Daniel has already been to work all this week and we had a little birthday party for Maria Victoria on Tuesday since all her cousins and some second cousins could come. Her birthday is tomorrow... one year old.
