I copied this from Philip's site where his parents update people on his progress. God is so good! Thank you for your prayers. Daniel will be going to visit from Monday to Thursday. He's only been away from me and the kiddos one night (camped in the mountains this summer while we were in the cabin in CO), so 3 nights and 4 days will be a first! Yikes!
Good news again today! Philip will be discharged to the rehabilitation facility tomorrow! It's really only next door, in the 'old' part of the hospital, but it's still a big step forward. The doctors and nurses are amazed at his progress! That's our Philip!!! Philip says that getting out of bed and into the wheelchair is a piece of cake. But he is excited about getting Roddy's chair because he says the one he is using now he doesn't like. He did 2 laps around the floor today. The hospital is maze though, and you never know where you are going to end up when you start down a corridor. The oral surgery is a definite for next Tuesday. The doctors want to strengthen Philip's palate that was broken with another bone graft as well as take impressions for his new teeth implants. Philip hopes to be in the rehab for about a week, then go home to Mason for a week, then to Houston on April 26th for his company's yearly get together. Thanks to all the visitors in Temple, Philip enjoys spending time with the people who drop by. He also enjoys listening to all the well-wishers on this website, so keep those supportive notes coming!
