Daniel's 29th!

Last Thursday was Daniel's 29th Birthday. The daily Mass readings were perfect for the day as they were the telling of Daniel being thrown to the lion's for praying to God and God closing the mouths of the lions so that Daniel was found by the king the next morning unharmed. The king, therefore, was shown the power of the living God and declared the God of Daniel the true god. The 29th was also the feast of All the Saints of the Franciscan Order, a big feast for the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Renewal.
Daniel went to Mass at 6am at the Sisters' convent and then worked there until noon. The we had a hamburger lunch at the house with Br. Luke. Daniel has been wanting a hamburger ever since his thyroid treatment, so that was perfect. Br. Luke stayed and visited for a good part of the afternoon before he went to Children's Village, a place for boys who aren't able to live in their homes or foster homes anymore because they've experience just too much. He and two other brothers go there weekly to hang out and be big brothers to the kids. Br. Luke says its a pretty rough place.
That evening Daniel's cousin and her boyfriend came over for dinner. It was a good but long day...I just not an entertainer. :)

*I actually wrote this the day after his b-day, but am just getting around to finishing and posting it. And our camera is broke, so no pictures on the birthday boy or of the kids first snow (Sunday). :(

Happy Birthday Daniel!
While looking for other lay missionary families, I found your blog, which is a blessing as Holly and I where just talking about the Hinckleys. Holly and I met you this summer at St Theresa's. We are missionaries with Family Missions Company.

God bless you all.
